Thunder Valley MX Track

Over 30 countries will send their three best riders to compete for the coveted ‘Chamberlain Trophy’ – the equivalent of ‘Olympic Gold’, as the Red Bull FIM Motocross of Nations is also known as “The Olympics of Motorcycling”.

2010 will mark the 64th edition of this event, and this will be the third time it’s ever been held in the USA, following this year’s Franciacorta, Italy edition.

More than 35 nations will compete in three classes (MX1, MX2 and Open) with three-man teams comprised of top riders.

In addition to the world’s best racing and national bragging rights, the event will attract more than 50,000 fans from Europe, Japan, Australia, South America, and will also include teams from New Zealand, Cyprus, Thailand, Latvia and even Mongolia.

For this exciting return to the US soil Youthstream teams up with Thunder Valley Promotions, the company widely recognized best motocross organizer in the country for a strong and promising partnership.

Only three years after the amazing success of Budds Creek, Maryland, that marked the last professional motocross appearance of the legendary Ricky Carmichael, the Red Bull FIM Motocross of Nations will be back in the heartland of team USA, the winningest team of the last two decades.

Please keep your radio tuned to FM 93.1 for up to date announcements, racing news, interviews and other information throughout the weekend.

The Motocross of Nations is an annual team motocross race, where riders representing their country meet at what is billed as the “Olympics of Motocross”. The event has been staged since 1947, where the team of Bill Nicholson, Fred Rist and Bob Ray, representing Great Britain, took home the Chamberlain Trophy for the first time.

MXON comes to Colorado: In its 64 years, MXoN 2010, will only be the third time the US has had the honor of hosting such a momentous event. More importantly, it will be held at Lakewood, Colorado’s very own Thunder Valley motocross track. Located a mere 15 minutes outside metro Denver, this track sits at 6,100 ft, on a mountainside layout and is well-known for its challenge to a rider’s prowess. The track is a fan favorite and has become a respected notoriety on an international level. 2010’s event is slated for September 25th and 26th.

We will have the Results on here from this great championship, check back in on Monday to see who has won the Red Bull Motocross of Nations Championship for the  coveted ‘Chamberlain Trophy’ – the equivalent of ‘Olympic Gold’!!
