GNCC: Chris Borich Races to a 2011 Washington GNCC Victory

Team Suzuki Press Release

GNCC: Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Chris Borich claimed his second win in as many weeks with a come-from-behind victory in the American Maxxis General GNCC – round two of the 2011 Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series in Washington, Georgia.

Chris Borich 2011 Washington ATV GNCC: Chris Borich Races to a 2011 Washington GNCC VictoryThe Rockstar Makita Suzuki rider ran second for most of the race after getting off the line in third, but turned up the wick on his Suzuki QuadRacer R450 to make a final lap to pass on early leader Chris Bithell, taking the lead and the win.

“That last lap – I knew it was going to be pretty much a free-for-all,” Borich said of his battle with Bithell. “I pulled up alongside him a couple of times, but he had a wheel on me so I let him go. Then when we got to the motocross track, I went under him in one of the turns and took the lead on my Suzuki.”

Borich, the reigning ATV XC1 champion, rode his Suzuki QuadRacer R450 to victory just last week in round one of the GNCC series, giving him a perfect record so far this season. With the two victories, Borich will carry a 14-point lead in the series standings into the third round of the series in Morganton, North Carolina on March 26th.

GNCC: Chris Borich races to a River Ranch GNCC Victory

Team Suzuki Press Release

GNCC: Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Chris Borich used a strong final-lap push to win the opening round of the 2011 ATV Grand National Cross Series at the Westgate River Ranch GNCC near River Ranch in Florida.

The reigning ATV XC1 Champion positioned himself within striking distance of the leaders during the first half of the race; and then used the awesome power of his Suzuki QuadRacer R450 to pick up the pace on the final lap to charge past the competition on the rough and sandy course.

“This is a good win for us,” said Borich. “We got the lead on the last lap and I put the hammer down on my Suzuki and tried to pull a gap. I can’t thank my Rockstar Makita Suzuki team enough.

For sure, it was a team effort and a good win. This was a tough race and we got out of here without any mishaps, so it shouldn’t be a problem to get ready for Georgia.”

Borich and his Rockstar Makita Suzuki team’s next event is on March 12th at The Maxxis General GNCC at Aonia Pass MX in Washington, Georgia.

Josh Creamer Victory at Spring Creek AMA ATV MX National in Millville, MN

Victory at Spring Creek

Millville, MN -Josh Creamer took the overall win aboard his Rockstar Makita Suzuki during round six of the AMA Pro ATV MX championship at the Spring Creek AMA ATV MX National in Millville, MN.

Creamer was able to lead start to finish in both motos, dominating the field at one of the roughest track these riders have seen.

With Creamer’s win, he now is 15 points ahead of his teammate and two time defending Champion, Dustin Wimmer for the 2010 ITP/Moose Racing AMA ATV Motocross Championship.

Team Rockstar Makita Suzuki started their weekend on a high note when current champion, Dustin Wimmer, earned the $100 ATVRiders.com Fastest Qualifier award.

Going into today’s event, many slated Wimmer as the man to beat, but he first had to overcome more of the hard luck that has slowed his charge for a third-straight ATV MX Title.

At the start of moto one, Baldwin Motorsports PEP’s Josh Upperman took the first corner and the $250 MotorcycleUSA.com holeshot award. Although Upperman was off to the early lead, it wasn’t long before Motoworks Can-Am rider John Natalie and Dustin Wimmer were headed for the front. As the riders jumped through the pro section, Natalie’s bike shut off mid-air, forcing Wimmer to land on top of him.

With Natalie and Wimmer out of the running for the top spots, Walsh’s Jeremy Lawson overcame Upperman for the lead. Motoworks Can-Am rider Chad Wienen was fighting towards the front while Creamer made a stunning recovery from a last-place start, passing through the pack to the third spot. In the last few laps, both Wienen and Creamer were able to overcome Lawson to finish 1-2 respectively.  Wimmer recovered for seventh, with Natalie in 14th.

Creamer made up for the last place start in the first moto when he earned the $250 MotorcycleUSA.com Holeshot award for moto two. The battles raged on as Team Suzuki and Team Can-Am made up the top four spots, with Creamer maintaining the lead.  As Wienen set his sights on the front and made a pass on Wimmer, Wimmer immediately seemed to catch fire, and mounted a charge toward a win.  By the checkered flag, Wimmer had made passed on Wienen and Creamer for the lead and pulled away from the pack.

Chris Borich Chris Wins Muddy Wiseco John Penton GNCC

sixth win of the Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series

Yoshimura’s Chris Borich once again was victorious in the GNCC ATV series, this weekend at the John Penton race in Millfield, Ohio.

with lots of mud , lots of fast racing, and Chris Borich and his Yoshimura-ATVRacer R450 ruled Round 8 of the series. This win marks defending champion Borich’s sixth win of the 2010 season.

Borich got a good start off the line thanks to the power of his Yoshimura-built engine, and he found enough traction and agility to make the most of the slippery course. Borich kept himself up front as he diced with other racers, and when the opportunity to pull away with the lead in the last lap arose, Borich had enough power on tap to make the most of it. Borich turned a small gap into a 30-second lead at the finish line.

“My Yoshimura engine really helped me get ahead in this race,” Borich said. “It was slick and muddy, but I had the power to pull ahead and get a good gap between me and the rest of the racers. I’m looking forward to the rest of the season and hope we can keep this momentum going.”

Borich has won six races so far this year and hasn’t finished off the podium in 2010. Borich extended his lead to 28 points with his win on Saturday, and he shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Round 9 of the GNCC series takes place on June 26-27 in Snowshoe, West Virginia, before the summer break pauses the action until September.
