BMW: The interceptor. The athlete. Aerodynamic, avant-garde. Do you know of another sporty bike with this profile? A bike that develops such pulling power with 175 hp that it take the heat out of many a 200 hp bike? But a bike you can still take out on a quick trip simply because it has great everyday suitability? At the same time a technological treat?
The reasons: 103 ft-lb of torque from 1,293 cc – and at 8,250 rpm too. With a throaty sound from a cool, hexagonal tube. With catalytic converter and exhaust valve.
And with fuel consumption and exhaust emission values which would suit many a machine with half the dynamic performance.
With this jet, the whole concept of speed moves into a new dimension. This in-line 4-cylinder delivers its power in such a way that you can almost feel it when standing still.
That’s because within the engine speed ranges in which you move more than 80% of the time – i.e. the lower and medium speed ranges – it delivers performance from the first yard.
The real thing. And in terms of safety features, this machine is unique: ABS as standard with ASC and ESA optional. And the extras are amazing: race through the gears with the automatic shift function, pure racing in view with the 2D HP dashboard.
The BMW K 1300 S: supreme power with the sportiest of understatement. Why not try it out right away!
Features:
You’ve got to have this!
Enjoying dynamics requires safety down to the last detail. And that is something that BMW Motorrad has been constantly reinventing for more than 20 years. The K 1300 S enjoys an excellent reputation when it comes to the fastest connection from A to B – and it fully deserves to:
High tech for everyday use
The K 1300 S is a unique interpretation of the speedbike theme. It represents a union of fascinating and innovative high-performance engineering combined with excellent all-round and everyday suitability, not to mention excellent safety.
Spring has sprung, and with it the racing season has come to life across the globe. Numerous BMW teams will contest race victories and titles with the 2012 BMW S 1000 RR, with many benefitting directly from the support of BMW Motorrad HP Race Support.
With the establishment of this specialist department in 2011, BMW Motorrad 2011 further expanded its customer sport programme, thus contributing to the worldwide success record of the RR.
The specialist department provides customer teams with track side support and engineering support, plus supplies performance parts.
The programme is expanding continuously, and will in future include complete race engines.
BMW Motorrad France Team Thevent will represent BMW Motorrad in the FIM Endurance World Championship, having last year achieved a first win in the world championship as well as the first championship lead for the Bavarian manufacturer’s RR.
In the final round at Doha, Qatar, the team narrowly missed out on taking the title, ending the 2011 season in second place. For this season overall championship victory is the obvious target. Team BMW Motorrad France Team will also contest the French Superbike Championship, and scored two second places in the opening round at Le Mans with Sébastien Gimbert in the saddle.
Various teams will contest the International German Motorcycle Championship IDM with the support of BMW Motorrad HP Race Support. In 2011 BMW won the manufacturers’ title in this tightly contested series. BMW Motorrad customer teams will also mount strong campaigns in the British Superbike Championship (BSB), the North American AMA Championship, as well as in the Australian and South African Superbike Championships.
In addition, BMW teams will take the start with the BMW S 1000 RR in national championships in a host of other countries, including Scandinavia, Canada and Belgium, with a view to repeating the race victories and title successes of previous years.
BMW R 1200 R and BMW R 1200 R Classic – the new dynamic roadsters from BMW Motorrad.
New dynamic drive, now with double overhead camshafts in each cylinder.
With the new BMW R 1200 R and R 1200 R Classic, BMW Motorrad is continuing its long tradition of roadster building and presents the revised successor models to the successful R 1200 R.
Both combine a modern sporty and accentuated classical motorcycle design, once again with considerably greater quality and driving dynamics for even more riding fun.
Generating perceptibly higher torques, the new boxer engine provides an extra boost to temperament.
Whereas the boxer in the predecessor model had already provided superior propulsion under all conditions, the new BMW R 1200 R models can deliver more on top.
Derived from the BMW HP2 Sport, their new boxer with 1170 cc and DOHC valve gear corresponds to the engines already installed in the BMW R 1200 GS and BMW R 1200 RT.
Thanks to ultra modern technology in conjunction with two different design concepts, the new BMW roadsters are setting discrete emphasises in the segment to a degree greater than before.
Whereas the basic version of the BMW R 1200 R emphasises the sporty all round character with new cast light alloy wheels, the R 1200 R Classic presents wire spoke wheels for a deliberate touch of refined nostalgia.
This demarcation between the two new roadster models is also continued in the colour of the paintwork and other equipment details. For instance, the R 1200 R Classic pays homage to the classic roadsters with metallic sapphire black paintwork in conjunction with a centre stripe in plain alpine white extending over the tank and front wheel cover.
The sportiest and most powerful series production flat twin Motorcycle of all time, the HP2 Sport Motorcycle continues into model year 2010 with the addition of a special Motorsport Edition.
The HP2 Sport Motorsport Edition continues to be powered by the familiar flat twin engine equipped with double overhead camshafts delivering 133 hp at 8750 rpm, but emulating the look of the BMW Motorrad Motorsport factory racers, featuring fairing, fuel tank, seat bench, front mudguard and engine spoiler painted in the BMW Motorsport colours Alpine White, Lupine Blue metallic and Magma Red.
BMW HP2 Motorcycle
Outstanding race results are inexorably linked with BMW Motorrad’s flat twin “Boxer” models. So it is an obvious step to build a high-end version! The result is the BMW HP2 Sport: the uncompromising realisation of the 24-Hour Endurance racer as a road machine.
100 per cent motor racing genes, licensed for the road. An exclusive sports machine by BMW Motorrad for motor racing connoisseurs and 2-cylinder enthusiasts which puts racing expertise into serial production – with power and authenticity.
With an incredible air/oil-cooled 133 bhp and 115 Nm – a unique performance for a serial production “Boxer”!
The BMW HP2 Sport Motorcycle caused quite a stir with its race track appearances – rarely has a 2-cylinder flat twin bike caused the competition so much trouble, it even outdistanced many a 4-cylinder bike.
In the last 24-hour race at the Oschersleben Speedweek, both machines entered in the race finished in the overall top 10.
One reason for this performance is the DOHC cylinder head*, which is being used for the first time in this fascinatingly engineered enthusiast’s motorcycle.
For all ambitious sports riders and keen flat twin fans a unique limited edition of 400 is now to be produced: derived from the paint finish of the Endurance machine, it is finished in the colours Alpine White /Indigo Blue / HP Red. As in the racing machine, the rims are finished in Indigo Blue at the front and Alpine White at the rear. Otherwise all the familiar specifications apply, including the material – leading to a sensational dry weight of 178 kg – and the impressive performance figures. In short: take the opportunity to put it away right now – or else use it for what it was built for and order a second set of rims for the rain tyres along with it!
* DOHC = Double OverHead Camshaft, double overhead camshaft for each cylinder.
BMW Motorcycles
With a staggering 130 horsepower, the HP 2 Sport Bike features the most powerful Boxer engine ever designed by BMW Motorrad. For the first time ever, double overhead camshafts are included in our famous opposed twin cylinder motor, kicking out even more revs.
Making the HP2 Sport even more track-ready is new Quickshifter technology, which means faster gear changes without having to chop the throttle or use the clutch.
with Added fully adjustable Ohlins sport front and rear suspension, Radial mounted Brembo Monobloc brakes, a lightweight carbon fiber aerodynamic fairing, not to mention forged racing wheels and tires and a MotoGP-inspired cockpit that computes lap times and other racing data, and the result is one of the most advanced sport bikes to ever scorch the tarmac.
As an option BMW Motorrad offers ABS especially adapted for sports use. An additional pressure sensor in the front brake circuit permits more sensitive brake regulation and prevents the control unit from releasing the front brake too early when weight is taken off the rear wheel suddenly. The ABS can also be deactivated for racetrack use.
The BMW HP2 Sport Motorsport is now available for order and limited to 400 units. The price in Germany is € 22,300.- incl. 19% VAT.
When BMW build’s a superbike, they have no time for second best.
The 2010 BNW S 1000RR
They now present the very latest in racing power. With an aluminium bridge, radial brakes, a super sporty tail-up nose-down design, hot colors and the ultimate combination of electronic rider assistance systems:
the first genuine racing ABS, whose features include a front-wheel-only mode, dynamic traction control (DTC) which permits varying degrees of slip, depending on the lean angle.
The more the rider hangs off, the more upright the bike and the longer the lines on leaving the curve. Never before was it so easy to keep so much power under control. This is just as true on public roads as it is down on the racetrack.
The RR label shows that it is a full-blooded racing bike, even though it can also be ridden with a number plate attached. To top it all off is an engine which is our absolute pride and joy. And the BMW motorsports team agree wholeheartedly.
Features:
Speed has to be kept under control. And motorcycle control is exactly what we have been constantly reinventing over the last 20 years. The S 1000 RR represents a milestone in electronic rider safety: ultra-lightweight ABS (2.5kg), which can be used in conjunction with the extremely efficient DTC dynamic traction control (available as an optional extra) – quite unique for 2009.
Racing ABS for all conditions
You couldn’t wish for a more discreet ABS; it has fine control intervals, is virtually imperceptible in its operation, and is light enough to satisfy fans of low-weight bikes.
DTC – transparent traction control you can rely on.
This dynamic feature reacts reliably and efficiently to speed, lean angle, and operating mode (rain, sport, race, or slick). It was specifically designed to be as effective on the road as it is on the racetrack.
Radially mounted Brembo brake callipers
This is how today’s superbikes decelerate. Not only do brake disks mounted directly on the wheel rims look good, they also reduce unsprung mass.
A superlative engine.
An extreme bore/stroke ratio (80×49.7mm) and rocker arm-actuated valves for great stability at high engine speeds, compact construction and lightweight design – a genuine powerhouse which demonstrates its considerably ability at all output levels.
A design that doesn’t just look good
Intelligently positioned slits behind the fairing minimise turbulence to allow the rider to maintain a relaxed head position, optimum air-flow around rider and bike ensures stability at top speed, while efficient flow-through makes for maximum cooling. Combined with plenty of eye-catching design features – that’s the way to do it.
Sporty seat positioning.
If you want to be fast, you have to adopt a relaxed racing posture. The way you sit must allow you to concentrate on the essential aspects of motorcycling – maximum enjoyment and perfect control. The looser you are on the bike, the easier everything else will be. Gone are the days when you had to bend yourself flat. Today’s modern posture means you are actually sitting more in the bike than on it.

The Success Story of the BMW Motorrad Single Cylinder Continues
BMW Motorrad has added yet another attractive member to its BMW GS family with the introduction of the new BMW G 650 GS. With its lean, wiry off-road stature, the new single-cylinder enduro cuts a light and adventurous figure and stands out clearly from its rivals in terms of quality, equipment, and comfort. In conjunction with its relatively low weight and the low seat height, it offers an attractive means of entry to the passion of motorcycling and the fascinating world of BMW GS adventure.
New updated version with a high torque and low consumption single-cylinder engine.
This liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with double overhead camshafts has a displacement of 652 cc, delivers 48 hp at 6500 rpm, and develops a maximum torque of 44 lb/ft.
Due to electronic fuel injection, twin-spark ignition, high compression ratio of 11.5:1, and a closed-loop catalytic converter, this single-cylinder engine is designed for maximum riding pleasure with the best possible efficiency and minimal environmental impact. Low consumption values of only 3.2 liters per 100 km at a constant 90 km/h (approximately 66 mpg city) are possible.
In conjunction with the claw-shifted five-speed gearbox, the high-revving single-cylinder engine in the new BMW G 650 GS offers increased performance on winding back roads. Its beefy torque curves and quick response also allow detours to be handled with supreme ease beyond asphalt roads.
Suspension technology.
The suspension of the new G 650 GS was developed primarily for riding on back roads and utilizes a bridge frame of steel tubing and a bolt-on rear frame. The front wheel is controlled by torsionally rigid telescopic forks, the rear system a solid dual swing arm of square steel sections in conjunction with a monoshock linked via a lever system.
The brake system consists of a single brake disc at the front and rear. The BMW Motorrad ABS, available as optional factory-installed equipment, can be deactivated for off-road riding.
Typical enduro design and color concept in the style of the BMW GS family.
The body of the new G 650 GS is completely redesigned. The front section makes the single-cylinder enduro light, sporty, and dynamic.
The engine, exhaust covers, frame, swing arm, and fork tubes, which are all black, contrast with the colors of aura white and orange-red as well as the matching two-tone seat.
The new BMW G 650 GS will be produced at the BMW Motorrad plant in Berlin Spandau.
