Honda’s awesome CRF450R has taken the lead in the four-stroke motocross revolution, and it’s still way out in front. To keep it there, we’ve given the king of the open class some serious updates for 2012.
With a machine like this, anything less than perfection is unacceptable—and the 2012 CRF450R gives you the perfect balance of open-class Honda power, refined suspension, and the best brakes in the business.
First, we’ve changed the rear shock linkage so you get a softer start and a stiffer finish. It responds to small bumps better, but still resists bottoming over really big hits.
Fine-tuning the rear travel helps with steering during hard braking and on long, fast downhill sections.
At the front, new fork outer tubes are stiffer for better feedback and superior tracking in heavy dirt, mud, and sand sections.
New springs and suspension settings front and rear keep the balance right and increase steering precision.
And we’ve even given the 2012 CRF450R wider, longer footpegs for better grip and comfort and fitted it with premium Dunlop MX51 tires for superior traction in corners and under acceleration.
All in all, the CRF450R is the most dialed-in open-class MX bike we’ve ever rolled up to the start gate. That, combined with its legendary power, makes it the machine serious riders will be campaigning in 2012.
Taking a perfect bike and making it even better.
Anybody can make a bike with no power handle. But getting a machine as powerful as Honda’s CRF450R to work right? That’s a challenge. And that’s why we’re especially proud of our 2012 model.
The new rear shock linkage, new springs front and rear, new suspension settings and more all help sharpen the CRF450R’s steering precision and increase traction on downhills and under hard braking.
Throw in wider footpegs, new premium Dunlop MX51 tires, a revised chain roller and new front-axle collars and from the time the first start gate drops you’ll know you’re on the best open-class MX bike you’ve ever ridden.
American Honda Motor Company introduces another wave of machines for the 2012 model year, which include a wide assortment of dual-sport and off-road motorcycles, ATVs and the Big Red™ MUV. These 2012 models emphasize the far-ranging options that Honda brings to customers and this broad array of machines also underscores another exciting new season for Honda.
This release of 2012 models includes: the CRF450R, CRF250R and CRF150R/RB motocross machines; the dual-sport XR650L; Honda’s popular selection of small-displacement recreational off-road bikes, the CRF100F, CRF80F, CRF70F and CRF50F; a host of ATVs including the FourTrax® Rancher® family, the FourTrax® Recon®, TRX400X and TRX90X; plus the versatile Big Red. In addition to these models, a host of new 2012 Honda Genuine Accessories are available that encompass the quality, performance and fit and finish you expect of all Honda products.
“Over the years, riding enthusiasts have come to know, appreciate and trust the wide diversity of machines that Honda offers,” said Powersports Press Manager Bill Savino. “This extensive release of 2012 models serves as a perfect example of how we strive to meet the many needs of today’s riding enthusiasts. This latest new-model release will fulfill the needs of many riders, but I’m excited to add that in addition to these models, we have even more new releases to follow later this year.”

- CRF450R: Setting a New Standard
Since its introduction, the CRF450R has served as the standard by which all other bikes are judged in the big-bore class of motocross machines. In 2012, Honda raises the bar once again with a host of improvements that will help the CRF450R stay at the head of the pack. A new, stiffer fork outer tube among other refinements bring a more solid feel to the front end, and stiffer fork springs, revised suspension settings front and rear plus a new shock linkage yield improved tracking, more precise handling and added rider confidence over rough terrain. New, longer and wider footpegs offer more support with a larger platform and Dunlop’s premium MX51 tires add to an overall package that makes the CRF450R the bike of choice in the 450 class for 2012. Availability: July 2011.
- CRF250R: A Winning Combination Grows Stronger
Superb handling and excellent power stand as the hallmarks of the CRF250R, and the revised 2012 model ups the ante in the 250 class. A new cylinder head, camshaft and 46mm throttle body produce a broadened powerband featuring more low-end and midrange torque for an amazing, right-now hit of power. In addition, a new suspension linkage and updated suspension settings front and rear bestow improved tracking and more precise handling upon the CRF250R, enhancements that make a great-handling bike even better than before. In addition to those changes, longer and wider footpegs deliver more support and Dunlop’s premium MX51 tires cap off championship-caliber credentials that make the CRF250R the bike to beat in 2012. Availability: August 2011.
- CRF150RB-Expert/CRF150R: Back and Better Than Ever
Back in the lineup as a 2012 model, the revolutionary CRF150RB-Expert/CRF150R steps up to an even higher level of performance. Thanks to several key engine updates, this 2012 model boasts improved power, torque and driveability throughout the powerband. Updated suspension settings front and rear produce improved action through even the toughest of track conditions. All of which reinforce the CRF150R’s premier position in racing circles. Availability: August 2011.
Of all the classes in motocross, the 250s are one of the toughest. And Honda’s CRF250R is the best—better than ever, in fact, with some great new updates for 2012.
Taking a cue from our revised CRF450R, we’ve changed the rear shock linkage so you get a softer start and a stiffer finish.
It responds to small bumps better, but still resists bottoming over really big hits.
Fine-tuning the rear travel helps with steering during hard braking and on long, fast downhill sections.
New suspension settings front and rear keep the balance right and increase steering precision. In addition, the CRF250R gets a new cyclinder head and new camshaft, and new throttle body, airbox and intake boot, all designed to give you more user-friendly power.
And finally we’ve even given the 2012 CRF250R wider, longer footpegs for better grip and comfort and fitted it with premium Dunlop MX51 tires for superior traction in corners and under acceleration.
Fine-tuning your way to the podium.
The CRF250R sets the standards in the Lites class. A perfect balance between performance, responsiveness and rider-friendly ergonomics, we’ve made it even better this year. The new rear shock linkage, new suspension settings, adjusted rear suspension travel and more all help sharpen the CRF250R’s steering precision and increase traction on downhills and under hard braking.
The engine upgrades (cylinder head, camshaft, throttle body) give you more power—and, more important, power you can really use. Throw in wider footpegs and new premium Dunlop MX51 tires, and from the time the first start gate drops you’ll know you’re on the best Lites-class MX bike you’ve ever ridden.
Light Makes Might.
Compact and batteryless, the CRF250R’s Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) system optimizes performance, and improves fuel efficiency.
Dialed-in Performance.
New front and rear suspension settings and rear shock linkage assembly keep the CRF250R hooked up and out in front. You’ll notice how well it steers the first time out.
Honda Power.
New cylinder head, new cam, and new throttle body, airbox, and intake boot all contribute to the CRF250R’s power for 2012. Two-fifties need to make plenty of power, but it has to be usable power. And the CRF250R delivers the way only a Honda can.
Straighten Up and Fly Right.
Developed by our factory racing team, the Honda Progressive Steering Damper is lightweight, compact and enhances cornering ability while reducing rider fatigue.

Honda’s line of Shadows are some of the most popular cruisers on the road. And one look at the Shadow Aero will tell you why.
Classic, retro style, like the spoked wheels, full fenders, and long, chromed mufflers. Thoroughly modern performance courtesy of the 745cc V-twin engine, specially tuned for low-revving torque.
And maintenance-reducing features like shaft final drive. Best of all, the Aero is a huge bargain, giving you a big-bike ride without the big-bike price. And it’s a bargain when it comes time to fill up, too. If you’re ready to turn some heads in a big way, and appreciate a bike that’s never going to go out of style, the Aero is the machine for you.
There’s Nothing Retro About How It Performs.
Like everyone else, what first got you looking at a Shadow Aero was its perfectly executed Retro style. But the Aero’s beauty is way, way more than just sheet metal deep. Like every Honda, it offers an unmatched level of quality, innovation, and value. And like the Aero’s good looks, that never goes out of style.
V-Twin Engine
Nothing pumps out the torque like a big V-twin. The Aero’s power makes it perfect for both around-town cruising, commutes, and casual weekend-long rides.
2-Into-2 Exhaust System
Sleek new pipes feature bullet-style mufflers for that classic cruiser style of yesteryear. Large-diameter head pipes and 2-into-2 system design combine to put out true, V-twin cruiser sound
Featuring long, low lines that embody what cruising is all about, the Stateline blends two worlds of motorcycling style: traditional looks plus progressive elements. The deeply valanced fenders arc downward in classic retro style, yet the all-new rolling chassis and overall lines bring a fresh look to the class. Add to that the deep throaty rumble of a big V-twin engine and that classic big Vee power pulse, and you have a machine that’s the perfect choice for cruising-anytime you want.
Long and low, with a no-nonsense attitude and the performance to back it up. The Honda VT1300CRA Stateline is a motorcycle that grabs your attention and won’t let go. Its all-new chassis includes an aggressively raked front end that looks radical, yet handles with the composure you’d expect from a Honda cruiser. The 1,312 cc V-twin engine uses Honda’s Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) for crisp throttle response, and other high-tech features such as three-valve cylinder heads and two spark plugs per cylinder help to produce the wide, strong powerband that makes riding a big cruiser so much fun.
Call it the perfect fusion of traditional and progressive cruiser design, featuring all the classic cues that make the Fury and Sabre so cool, plus a few twists that are decidedly neo-retro, like deep, long fenders.
The brawny 1312cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected 52º V-twin is a thing of beauty, too, with smooth, maintenance-free shaft final drive putting all that torque and power to the ground with effortless ease.
See what happens when you build a custom that’s equal parts old school and new. Then look no further than the Stateline.
2011 Honda Stateline VT1300CRA ABS Features and Benefits
Despite winning numerous comparison tests and awards in 2010, the Honda CRF250R enters the new season sporting a number of improvements that will help it continue its winning ways.
A new Honda Progressive Steering Damper (HPSD) with a larger, 24mm damper piston aids tracking precision, and new suspension settings front and rear help give this stellar-handling machine even better chassis balance for 2011.
Changes to engine tuning now give the CRF250R a stronger bottom-end and midrange hit, and this model also features a new muffler that meets the 94-decibel sound level required by some racing organizations in 2011.
Are you a winner?
Do you want to ride like one?
Then you better get yourself on a 2011 CRF250R. We’ve given our quarter-liter wonder some serious upgrades for 2011 and it likes to win.
Because there’s a new 94dB exhaust rule this year, we gave the CRF250R a new muffler. But we also gave it a new ECU settings which, combined with the exhaust, gives you more usable power, especially in the midrange. It’s a win-win situation: A quieter bike and one that’s even easier to ride.
Like the CFR450R, we also gave the CRF250R a new Honda Progressive Steering Damper (HPSD) with a new, bigger 24mm piston. That gives you more damping when you need it, but still remains as transparent as ever when you don’t. Better handling, better balance, better tracking, especially at the limits of performance: the new 2011 CRF250R has it all.
The technology you need to win.
The CRF250R has won Transworld Motocross magazine’s “250 Four-Stroke MX Bike of the Year” not just once, but four straight years. Year after year, the CRF250R keeps leading the way, not only in terms of technology, but in terms of how rider-friendly this awesome bike is. Big changes in the exhaust system, new suspension settings, a bigger, better HPSD and more midrange power make the 2011 CRF250R the best 250 ever.
