2012 Moto Guzzi V7 Racer Motorcycle

Italian style and superb craftsmanship in a motorcycle created for collectors in search of vintage appeal. The Moto Guzzi V7 Racer pays homage to the extraordinary racing career of the V7 Sport, an icon in the glorious history of the marque from Mandello del Lario.

2012 MotoGuzzi V7 Racer 2012 Moto Guzzi V7 Racer MotorcycleAmong its many merits, the legendary V7 Sport – with its technical excellence and outstanding performance – was also the most desirable bike of all in the modified production class.

This class, reserved for gentleman riders, enjoyed an avid following spurred on by the passionate rivalry between supporters of Japanese bikes, which were extraordinarily powerful but difficult to ride, and fans of Italian sports bikes which, while disadvantaged in terms of pure horsepower, boasted better engineered chasses and superior braking performance than their multi-cylinder adversaries.

Away from the circuit, this rivalry between the two factions continued in heated discussions around café tables, and if you happened to have a Moto Guzzi V7 Sport parked in front, with its single-seater saddle in suede, its racing exhaust and its unmistakable top fairing, it was proof that you belonged to an elite group of expert motorcyclists for whom riding is a true art.

Moto Guzzi has captured the essence of that magical moment in time from over three decades ago, and reinterpreted it with the marque’s hallmark passion and skill to create a genuine production special: the new V7 Racer. Produced in a numbered edition, as demonstrated by the commemorative plaque on the steering yoke, the V7 Racer celebrates the classic styling cues of the Moto Guzzi brand in a perfectly balanced blend of craftsmanship and technology evident in every aspect of this stunning motorcycle.

The first thing to catch your eye is the red frame, inspired by the legendary first 150 examples of the V7 Sport with CrMo frames, has been given a special treatment – as have the hubs and swingarm – which accentuates the gloss finish and emphasises the aesthetic purity of the double cradle structure. Perched on top of the frame’s tubes is an ultra sporty single-seater saddle (a two-seater saddle and pillion footpegs are available as optional accessories), upholstered in suede and terminating in an aerodynamic tail fairing that also incorporates lateral race number panels in true Seventies style.

Moto Guzzi: 2011 Moto Guzzi Griso 1200 8V SE Motorcycle

Moto Guzzi Griso 1200 8V SE:

A SPECIAL EDITION FOR THE DISCERNING RIDING ENTHUSIAST.

Derived from one of the most innovative and courageous of all modern Moto Guzzi models, the Griso 8V SE SE is a special edition destined to become a classic.

2011 Moto Guzzi Griso 1200 8V SE Motorcycle Moto Guzzi: 2011 Moto Guzzi Griso 1200 8V SE MotorcycleThe bold character expressed in the nonconformist styling of the Griso is given further emphasis by the sophisticated “Tenni” livery in a particular tone of matte green that contrasts elegantly with the numerous black painted metal elements such as the frame, the wheels, the steering plates and the handlebar.

Among the details making this a genuine special edition are the saddle upholstered in premium leather with visible stitching, attractive spoke wheels and restrained colour-coordinated badges identifying the vehicle.

Powered by a modern transverse 90° V-twin “Quattrovalvole” series engine developing a peak power of approximately 110 hp at just 7500 rpm, the Griso 8V SE SE dominates the road with silky smooth power delivery and a commanding presence, inviting the rider to delve into the ability of the outstanding chassis to keep all those straining horses in check.

This is all thanks to the chassis, with twin overhead tubular elements in high tensile steel and the generously sized lateral reinforcement of the lower cradle, with ribbing that is much more than just an aesthetic suggestion but actually designed to confer extremely high torsional rigidity to the bike as a whole. The geometry has been defined for maximum stability, with a headstock inclined by of 26° resulting in a trail of 108 mm and a wheelbase of 1544 mm. Nonetheless, the Griso 8V SE SE is surprisingly nimble and sincere, rewarding the rider with lightning fast directional changes.

The impeccable road manners of the Griso 8V SE SE benefit from the low centre of gravity and the rock steady front end, with reduced offset plates to ensure an immediate and precise response to any steering input. This is a veritable scalpel on two wheels allowing the most discerning rider to carve perfect lines in the asphalt.

MOTO GUZZI: PRESENTING THE NEW AQUILA NERA SERIES FOR THREE GREAT CLASSICS OF THE EAGLE BRAND

2011 Moto Guzzi California Black Eagle Moto Guzzi: 2011 Moto Guzzi California Black Eagle MotorcycleThe new 2011 range of Moto Guzzi “customs”: the legendary California 1100, the nimble Nevada 750 and the sporty Bellagio 940 are all now available in the new Aquila Nera variant.

Once again, the historical Moto Guzzi eagle takes pride of place on the tank, now against an all-new black livery highlighting the mechanicals and the classic lines of these three legendary bikes.

Aquila Nera: this evocative moniker has been chosen for a new trim level for created for Moto Guzzi’s custom models.

With the Aquila Nera range, Moto Guzzi has, for the first time ever, applied the same unique and bold styling cues to a range of legendary models evocative of some of the most significant successes in the history of the brand.

Moto Guzzi California is unquestionably Moto Guzzi’s most famous custom model and is one of the best known and best loved bikes in the world. Conceived in the early 1970s for the American market, it made for a name for itself in all five continents, earning universal acclaim for its bold image and impeccable road manners.

It became famous for its legendary reliability – as testified by the fact that it was used as an official police vehicle by the NYPD (New York Police Department) for over a decade – and for its performance, which increased progressively through a continuous process of evolution of the engine that took it from 750 cc to 850, 1000 and eventually 1100 cc.

The successful flagship model was joined in the second half of the 1980s by the Moto Guzzi Nevada, one of the best selling bikes ever to come out of Mandello del Lario. Originally offered in 350 and 650 cc variants, its success was consolidated by successive evolutions which culminated in today’s 750 cc version with electronic fuel injection.

Completing the family of Italian custom bikes is the Bellagio, the Moto Guzzi that has most in common with American custom machines which, however, retains many of the eagle brand’s hallmark characteristics: the 940 cc short stroke engine, dual spark plugs, the CA.R.C. (‘CArdano Reattivo Compatto’ – compact reactive cardan shaft) transmission and six speed gearbox.

These features, skilfully complemented by a class leading chassis layout, make the Bellagio the sportiest bike in its segment, offering a riding experience comparable to that of a naked machine.

The 2011 Moto Guzzi Stelvio NTX Enduro Motorcycle

Named after the famous Alpine pass that connects Valtelline Valley to Vinschgau Valley with 84 amazing s-bends between them, Stelvio has launched Moto Guzzi back among the stars of the maxi enduro world.

2011 MotoGuzzi Stelvio NTXl The 2011 Moto Guzzi Stelvio NTX Enduro Motorcycle

Engine: 1200 90° V-shaped Twin-cylinder "Four Valve"

A highly appreciated bike that has now reached a coming of age at a technical-functional level, thanks to the updates and final tweaking undergone by the MY2011.

It all starts with its style, now even more attractive and trendy rounding off the fuel tank by integrating it within the lightweight fairing, which now highlights a clearly smooth streamlined effect which flows into the double front headlight assembly.

The latter feature is a distinctive element of the Stelvio design, and the only detail inherited from the previous version.

The top fairing, windshield and the half-fairing with integrated turn indicators are all brand new elements that combine to give the front-end of the Stelvio MY2011 a cutting-edge, more aggressive and dynamic look.

It has an original design, but it is above all more functional and versatile, features that are of uppermost importance on models of this type.

From an objective standpoint, the style of the new surfaces emphasises two fundamental project milestones compared to the previous version:

more efficient aerodynamic protection, thanks to the new top fairing and practically twice fold range capacity thanks to the outstanding new fuel tank with a 32 litre record capacity.

This new Stelvio bike has an air of complete renovation about it, fine examples being the cockpit with brand new graphs on the on-board control panel, a new increased scale fuel indicator.

The heart that beats inside this touring bike is the renowned V-shaped 90° transverse twin-cylinder “Four valve” engine, the highest performer among all the families of engines manufactured at Mandello del Lario, which has now reached exclusive levels as far as its technical/performance development is concerned.

Miguel Galluzzi and Pierre Terblanche capture the essence of Moto Guzzi and inject it into motorcycles to drool over, designed with one thing in mind: pure riding pleasure.

Miguel Galluzzi e Pierre Terblanche – two of the most brilliant motorcycle designers of all time – teamed up to present us with their styling exercises centred around the very essence of the Moto Guzzi brand – its legendary in-line twin-cylinder engine.

The V12 prototypes have been developed around the 1,200 cc 4-valve 90-degree V-twin from Mandello, so much so that they were even named after it.

This is Moto Guzzi’s tribute to the one engine that turned the “Italian eagle” brand into a myth of motorcycling and to its unique character. It is a statement of Moto Guzzi’s commitment to keep developing and improving its flagship engine for the years to come.

Pierre Terblanche’s prototypes stand out for the minimalist design of the aluminium casting frame embracing that true masterpiece of mechanics.

The frame compact dimensions make for a simple, neat layout. Tank, saddle and tail are integrated into a monocoque structure, an unconventional example of the fine art of design combining technology, style and practicality.

The overall impression is one of striking neatness, a sight unseen in the motorcycle industry: there is not a single cable left in sight, not a single off-key detail to be found. Such uncluttered appearance and compact size would simply be unthinkable without the sleek layout of the Guzzi twin-cylinder engine. Quite a paradox, if one considers the exuberant personality of this engine.

The V12 models are true to the Moto Guzzi tradition and its commitment to innovation that goes back nearly 9 decades.

Moto Guzzi is back to the quintessential Italian bike (so much so that all labels and indications are in Italian), a statement of style combined with technology. Rather than on performance for performance’s sake, the focus is on showcasing the mechanics, on essential design, on the pleasure of owning a unique motorcycle and – of course – on riding fun, thanks to its eager engine and amazing chassis.

The prototypes feature innovative details and solutions, like the concept bikes they are. Noteworthy are the cutting-edge rear suspension of the V12 LeMans, the LCD “rear-view mirrors”, the LED light units, the “suspended” passenger footpegs and the heat sinks.
