Chino, Calif. – October 13, 2010 – Getting the most out of an engine is what the engineers at Yoshimura R&D do best, and they’ve wasted no time in developing a new version of their race-proven RS-4 exhaust system to maximize the performance of the 2011 Yamaha YZ250F.
This bike’s engine was redesigned to make more power through the low and mid range, while maintaining the top-end rush that has made the bike so popular among motocross racers. By adding a Yoshimura RS-4 slip-on or full system, riders will feel a significant boost in power and torque all the way from idle to redline.
The RS-4 is Yoshimura’s most advanced off-road exhaust system yet. The compact RS-4 muffler utilizes a duplex chamber design to maximize flow while offering excellent noise reduction. The end result is a lightweight muffler that will lower sound emissions while increasing performance.
RS-4 systems can be tuned to match whatever noise restrictions you might face through interchangeable sound inserts, which range from the USFS approved spark-arrested insert to the AMA pro racing legal insert.
All RS-4 exhausts are manufactured from the highest quality lightweight materials, and come in a variety of finishes. The slip-on model features stainless/aluminum construction, and a stylish carbon fiber end-cap to set your machine apart. Full systems are available in stainless/aluminum, titanium, or titanium/carbon finishes.
As the official exhaust of the Rockstar Makita Suzuki Yoshimura Supercross/Motocross team, this exhaust was designed with one thing in mind, winning races. The RS-4 is a unique design with predicated power, a side benefit of a quiet, earthy exhaust note that speaks volumes for performance.
This Full System comes with a titanium header and mid-pipe, carbon muffler sleeve, installation hardware, and detailed instructions to get you moving! The Titanium Systems come with a AMA Pro Racing sound insert installed in the muffler.

Akrapovic Evolution Exhaust System with Hexagonal Muffler
Akrapovic Racing and Evolution systems
Akrapovic Racing and Evolution systems are designed for racing-oriented riders who demand maximum performance from their motorcycle.
Both systems feature exceptional production quality, hi-tech materials, and of course increased engine performance.
Their quality and reputation are further augmented by the use of the high-tech HYDROFORMING production process to form the header tubes.
Besides performance, you will also benefit from great weight savings of up to 5.24 kg when compared to the stock system.
The change will also be visual as our HEXAGONAL mufflers perfectly fit the exterior line of the Fireblade and add a clean racing image.
Systems are not homologated and are developed only for race track use.
Performance: Measurements of the Akrapovic EVOLUTION system on the HONDA CBR 1000 RR (without the muffler insert):
Power & Torque: The exhaust system modification with the EVOLUTION system results in a major boost in performance, delivering a massive 174 HP at 12310 rpm on the back wheel.
But the increased power is not available just at the top of the range; the system already shows its quality from 3000 rpm up through the entire rpm range.
Maximum increased power between an Akrapovic and a stock system is 4.7 HP at 12750 rpm. In addition, the torque is substantially higher in a lower rpm area at 4000 rpm and in the middle to high rpm area.
The Exhaust System that you voted for in our poles. With 10 votes here is the Akrapovic Evo System!
features:
Oval-shaped can with your choice of carbon-fiber or titanium outer sleeve
Outlet cap, perforated inner sleeve and inlet cap are all made of titanium
Joint of the inlet cap is milled on a state-of-the-art CNC machine and connected by high-quality silicon-shielded tempered springs
Include a lightweight, compact and high-temperature-resistant carbon-fiber muffler clamp
Hexagonal shaped, hydro-formed header and link pipe are made of titanium
Crossover tubes may be installed based on the results of testing
Most models come with pre-installed fitting for lamda connection
Ceramic anti-seizing grease, made especially for use with titanium, is used to prevent seizing, corrosion and excessive wear of parts of the exhaust system made of titanium (due to vibration and extreme temperatures)
When the position of the exhaust system needs to be changed and the stock bracket is no longer usable a carbon-fiber bracket is included

The race-proven Yoshimura RS-4 exhaust system is the most advanced performance off-road exhaust Yoshimura has to offer, and that system is now available for 2010-11 Suzuki RM-Z250s.
The addition of an Yoshimura RS-4 exhaust system will give your Suzuki a great boost in power that you’ll feel from right off idle all the way to redline.
The Yoshimura RS-4 features a unique duplex chamber design that delivers optimal noise reduction without impeding the flow of exhaust gasses.
This means you’ll get more power without the excessive noise commonly associated with high performance exhaust systems.
Noise levels can be further tuned through the use of the Yoshimura RS-4′s interchangeable volume inserts, from the USFS approved insert to the AMA Pro Racing legal insert.
RS-4 exhausts also feature legendary Yoshimura build quality from high-grade materials that can take whatever you might throw at it and keep performing.
The RS-4 Slip-on is constructed from stainless steel and aluminum for strength and lightness, while the RS-4 Full System features stainless/aluminum, titanium/titanium or titanium/carbon finishes for that factory look. Each Yoshimura RS-4 system also includes high-quality hardware and instructions for an easy installation.
Each of these exhausts can also be paired with a Yoshimura PIM-2 unit and DATA box accessory for even more power. The PIM-2 unit remaps your Suzuki’s fuel-injection system with one of the two included maps (designed for use with a Yoshimura Slip-on or Full System), or one of the additional maps available for download from the Yoshimura website. The PIM-2 installs in minutes, and comes with a mounting bracket and hardware.
For those looking to extract the best possible performance from their machine, the DATA box accessory can be combined with the PIM-2 unit to create custom fuel maps to match the user’s requirements. The DATA box accessory will help you get the most out of your Suzuki without the need for an expensive dyno tune. Like the PIM-2, the DATA box includes a mounting bracket and mounting hardware.
