MotoGP rider Nicky Hayden went under the knife, with a surgery performed on the American’s right arm. A press announcement from Ducati states the surgery was a “clean-up” procedure, removing scar tissue from an earlier operation. Hayden was a respective seventh- and eight-fastest during Day 1 and Day 2 of MotoGP testing at Sepang.
The operation took place at the Madrid clinic of Dr. Angel Vilamor, who had previously operated on the Kentucky Kid’s arm to treat arm-pump.
Hayden rode the 2010 Desmosedici at the two-day Sepang test earlier this month. The 2006 MotoGP champion was seventh-fastest on Day 1 and eighth-fastest on Day 2.
Now stateside post-op, Hayden is slated to ride at a second Sepang test on February 25th and 26th.
