After claiming the 2009 MX3 World Championship title Pierre-Alexandre, better known as “Pela”, decided to swap his MX machine for an Enduro and, like many MX riders in recent years, give it a go in the Enduro World Championship and the French Enduro Championship.

Having ensured Eric Bernard as his team manager and mentor Pela put in an impressive rookie season by winning the French E2 title, scoring 7 podium finishes in the E2 class of the EWC, including his first victory on the final race day of the championship, finishing the E2 class in 4th position and being named “EWC Rookie of the Year 2010”.

After this proof of his talent Pela’s goal was to secure a factory ride for the coming season and Husaberg is happy to announce that its Factory Team was able to reach an agreement with him. Pela will contest the E2 class of the EWC as well as the French E2 Championship and the French Classics aboard a Husaberg FE 450.

“We believe that Pela is the perfect addition to our Factory Team as he is still young and very determined to develop. It has always been the philosophy of Husaberg to sign young talents and support them to become champions, like with Joakim Ljunggren and Oriol Mena in recent years, and Pela, as “Rookie of the Year”, is perfectly matching this philosophy. We are sure he has the potential to be a future World Champion and we are really happy to welcome him to our team” Husaberg Factory Team Manager Thomas Gustavsson comments.

Here’s what Pierre-Alexandre Renet has to say about his decision of joining the Husaberg Factory Team: “I had offers from several teams for the next season, which I was happy about, but the decision for Husaberg was quite clear for me right away. After only one year in Enduro I know I still have to learn a lot, so the opportunity to continue working with Eric (Bernard) and the chance to work with Thomas Gustavsson in the future made the decision easy for me. The Husaberg Factory Team is very professional and their bike is great, too. When I first tested it after the GP of Greece it felt good right away, without even touching the suspension, so after this test I was sure it was the right choice.”

On his goals for 2011 Pela states: “I’m really happy with my first season in Enduro but I definitely have to further improve my riding, especially in the Extreme tests. I feel that I have already come a long way and am sure I can still get faster with the help of my new team. My goals for 2011 are clearly defending my French E2 title and finishing the EWC on the podium.”

Of course the engagement of Pela also means a lot to Husaberg France as the general manager, Reinhold Zens, underlines: “I am extremely happy about the fact that we were able to secure the French Enduro Champion Pierre-Alexandre Renet to contest the World and French Enduro Championship for Husaberg next season.

Husaberg offers high quality and high technology premium bikes and, with the arrival of the new 2-stroke models, has grown to a full range Enduro brand for those riders who want to be different than the rest. We believe that Pela will be able to fight for the title in the upcoming season and we are convinced that with his Husaberg he will have the right tool to win. For the brand it is excellent to have one of the most charismatic and promising riders in the team.”
