Dual Stage Fuel Injection (DSFI) delivers the precise fuel/air mixture to the engine for efficient combustion and crisp performance at high engine rpm. 46 mm throttle bodies feature Denso injectors with lightweight valving for faster reaction time and 12 holes per injector to optimize mixture atomization, combustion efficiency and power. Auto-enriching system is integrated into programmed fuel injection (PGM-FI) module, eliminating the need for a manual choke. Small and light ECU features two 3-D fuel injection maps per cylinder/two 3D ignition maps per cylinder pair creating an ideal fuel mixture for superb rideability. MotoGP-derived twin ram-air system allows high volume (9.7-litre airbox) of cool air for incredible engine performance. High-capacity radiator with twin cooling fans. Maintenance-free automatic cam-chain tensioner. Starter gears located on the right side for increased lean angle. Radical clutch design not only provides slip in throttle-off conditions, but also provides positive lock under power. Danville, VA — VIRginia International Raceway announced today that Jason Britton, star of Speed TV’s SuperBike series, will be a featured performer at the Suzuki White Lightning AMA Pro SuperBike Nationals presented by Foremost Insurance to be held August 13th – 15th, 2010. Races are won and lost in the corners, so the Yamaha YZ450F Dirt Bike has been designed to corner better than ever before, letting you turn in sooner, get on the throttle quicker and stay on it for longer. The YZ450F features a revolutionary fuel injected, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, 4-valve, DOHC, rearward-slanting single cylinder engine and an advanced Bilateral Beam aluminium frame with components distributed for a perfect mass-centralisation and class-leading handling. The high-capacity, long-stroke suspension system helps smooth over the bumps, while keeping you in contact with the road surface. The YZ450F is the biggest advantage an off-road racer can have. Now it’s up to you to do the rest. All New for 2010 YZ450F Dirt Bike’s new rearward-slanted cylinder is a revolutionary advancement that achieves unmatched mass centralization, concentrating inertial mass toward the center of the machine. This bold new design also swaps traditional intake and exhaust positions, putting the lightweight airbox and throttle body out front. This contributes to mass centralization for nimble handling while also achieving a straight intake tract for superb combustion efficiency that delivers more power. The cylinder is offset so the connecting rod is vertical at the moment of greatest combustion force, minimizing piston friction against the cylinder wall that could rob power. That means quicker response. The new 4-titanium valve cylinder head is matched to a fuel injection system developed specifically for the YZ450F. Instantly adapts to changing air/fuel mixtures depending on altitude and temperature, for an engine that delivers no matter what conditions. The all-new aluminum Bilateral Beam frame provides a superb rigidity balance that complements the engine for unmatched lightweight handling and cornering. The result? The best cornering, most nimble 450F for all track conditions. Revamped looks deliver new-generation styling, including front and rear fenders, intake cover, front fork protector, and number plate, along with the fuel tank and seat.
