Nick Fahringer Earns 2nd at the 2011 Lone Star National Enduro

Nick Fahringer 2011 Lone Star National Enduro Nick Fahringer Earns 2nd at the 2011 Lone Star National Enduro Husaberg Factory rider Nick Fahringer earned his career best finish with a 2nd place result at the third round of the AMA National Enduro Series held in Kalgary, TX.

The Lone Star Enduro was the most demanding of the three rounds raced this season. The temperatures were in the mid-nineties with high-winds. Riders described the course as hard-packed, very dry and rocky.

Fahringer and his teammate, eight-time National Enduro Champion, Mike Lafferty, started the day off well turning top five times in the first test. The second test was made for the Husaberg riders as Fahringer took the win and Lafferty finished in 2nd just 6 seconds behind him. “I felt great all day. The course was very hard-packed which made it quite slippery but my Husaberg seemed to hook up well all day,” stated Fahringer.

Fahringer placed 3rd in the next two tests, while Lafferty was able to put together two more solid 2nd place results in test three and four. At the start of the fifth test, both Lafferty and Fahringer were sitting in great position to fight for the win alongside KTM’s Charlie Mullins.

In the fifth test, Lafferty encountered mechanical problems which caused him to withdraw from the race. His teammate, Fahringer, continued to push forward and finished the fifth test in 6th position. “The fifth test was a short, fast section. They took part of a GP course from an earlier race and ran us through that section,” commented Fahringer. “I rode pretty decent in the section but didn’t quite have the speed that Mullins did through it and I lost some valuable seconds.”

Fahringer redeemed himself in the final test earning another 2nd place time behind event winner, Charlie Mullins. Fahringer’s consistent performance throughout the day put him in 2nd overall for the race resulting in Fahringer’s best career National Enduro finish.

“It feels great to get on the podium and to finish 2nd overall today. I am bummed that my teammate suffered from some problems and hope to see him back up front at the next round.”

Next Event: April 17, 2011 – West Point, TN

Graham Jarvis outclasses all to claim emphatic Hells Gate Enduro win

2011 Hells Gate Enduro

Delivering a start to finish win Husaberg mounted Brit Graham Jarvis leaves his rivals behind and romps to an outstanding Hells Gate victory.

Jarvis outclasses all to claim emphatic Hell’s Gate win Graham Jarvis outclasses all to claim emphatic Hells Gate Enduro win Starting as one of the favourites for victory at the 2011 running of the infamous Hells Gate Enduro in Italy Graham Jarvis knew that the fight for the win was going to be a tough one.

The rider that snatched defeat from the jaws of victory 12 months ago when he got to within 200 meters of the finish only to be overtaken and beaten into the runner-up spot, Graham’s goal this time around was simple.

To go one better that his runner-up result in ’10 and finally claim a lo ng overdue victory.

Right from the start of this year’s event Jarvis put himself atop the Hells Gate Enduro leader board, going on to win three out of the four special tests during the event’s morning qualifying enduro. In doing so he opened up an almost one-minute margin over fellow British rider Dougie Lampkin.

It was clear from the start of the day that the organisers had laid out a truly gruelling course for the riders. With over six hours of technical enduro going, which included 40 minutes of special test racing, the qualifying enduro was anything but easy. The afternoon race was then scheduled to be six laps of the course, each lap taking at least one-hour to complete.

Despite the physically demanding morning race Graham started the main event looking fresh and sitting on pole position on the road race style starting grid. After failing to fire his bike into life at the drop of the starters flag he was beaten to the holeshot by Husaberg rider Xavier Galindo. However, it quickly became clear that this was to be Graham’s day as by the time he’d reached the first major spectator point he held a three-minute lead.

Husaberg Motorcycle Race Report – US National Enduro Finale

HUSABERG PRESS RELEASE

An action packed review of the 2010 US National Enduro Series featuring 8x HUSABERG US National Enduro champion Mike Lafferty and Enduro young gun Nick Fahringer.

In the first full factory backed season the two Husaberg riders finished just off the podium in 4th (Lafferty, 6 podiums) and 5th (Fahringer, 3 podiums) with Mike delivering the first National Enduro victory for Husaberg at round 3 of the series, the famous Alligator Enduro in Florida.

Husaberg Factory riders Mike Lafferty and Nick Fahringer finished 5th and 7th overall at the final round of the AMA National Enduro Series.

The Muddobbers National Enduro was one of the most challenging courses of the ten round series. The normally dusty course received rainfall the day of the race which made for a slick race track.

“It was hard to determine how much traction you would get as you traversed the course,” commented Fahringer. “I would feel good going into a turn just to slide out which would make me more cautious in the next corner adding to a bad overall finish time.”

Lafferty had a decent start to the race, finishing the first three tests with top five times. Fahringer also had a strong showing in the second test finishing with the third fastest lap time.

“Anywhere it was wide open, I felt strong, but when we got into the tight trees I struggled on the terrain today,” commented Lafferty. “Normally I would have a strong showing here but the course was tricky.”

Although the National Enduro Series is wrapped up, both Husaberg riders have additional plans before the year end. Lafferty will finish out the GNCC Series while Fahringer will compete in the final OMA race and the ISDE event in Mexico.
