Yamaha launches 3 new Motorcycles for day to day commuting

In order to tap the demand of 10 million Motorcycles this year, India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. today launched three new bikes – SZ, SZ-X and YBR-125 of deluxe and premium segment at Grater Noida.

Bollywood actor and Yamaha’s brand ambassador in India, John Abraham unveiled the three motorcycles in the day-to-day commuting segment.

Addressing a press conference, Yukimine Tsuji, CEO & MD, India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. said, “The launch of SZ, SZ-X and YBR 125 is in line with Yamaha’s true commitment to provide world class products to its customers. SZ, SZ-X and YBR-125 Motorcycles have been designed and engineered down to the finest details from maximum comfort of the rider.”

“Ideal combinations of power, comfort and style, SZ & SZ-X Motorcycles have been designed with strong focus on quality and performance. YBR-125, on the other hand, is stylish and has good ergonomics for comfortable day-to-day commuting,” he added.

Yamaha has launched these bikes in price range between Rs 47,000 and Rs 52,000 a unit. SZ and SZ-X Bikes are powered by a 153cc engine, while the YBR125 will run on a 123cc engine.

Riding on high growth trajectory backed by impressive product line-up, Yamaha has registered a growth of 30.3 percent in sales during July 2010 as compared to the corresponding period last year. It sold 29,728 units in July 2010 as against 22,807 units sold in July 2009.

In domestic markets, Yamaha sold 22, 899 units in July 2010 as compared to 17, 316 units in the same month last year. The export figures stood at 6,829 units in July 2010 while 5,491 units were exported in July 2009.

“We are confident that these bikes will capture the imagination of the whole generation of bikers who are looking for something extra,” Tsuji said.
